Officials of the administration of Barack Obama this week have launched a series of community meetings around the country with the aim of better understanding the needs of the Hispanic community regarding education.
They will meet with the community
The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans in Texas has started the consultation sessions, which include representatives of universities, schools, community organizations and businesses related to education, parents and Hispanic students.

In each city, representatives of the initiative’s executive conducted two meetings with an educational, community and business, and open to the entire community, said the spokeswoman.
In these meetings we have found that many of the issues of concern and interest to us are the same concern and interest to the community and this represents a great opportunity, “said the spokesman.
Looking for positive reforms

Also, the spokeswoman noted the potential for greater involvement of parents in educating their children and better access to information about options and programs to keep informed, as some of the concerns that have been heard during the first week on tour, he said.
At the end of the tour in several states and Puerto Rico in late September, the initiative will issue new recommendations on education with regard to the Hispanic community.
“In a few months there will be a presidential executive order to help improve educational excellence for Hispanic United States,” said the representative of the program.
Besides the cities of Laredo, San Antonio, Brownsville, Austin, El Paso and Houston, Texas, officials will continue in Chicago later this month.
“For us it is important to visit as many towns as possible because every community is different and the challenges that are confronting change from place to place,” says Ebinger.
